Writers’ Club Gears Up for Exciting Gathering
The Phoenix Writers Club is set to hold its monthly meeting on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Devonshire Senior Center located at 802 E. Devonshire Ave. This gathering will feature guest speaker Sasha Hawkins, an accomplished writer from Laveen.
Sasha Hawkins boasts an impressive portfolio, including two chapbooks: “And His Banner Over Me Was Love” (Pansy Press, 2024) and “These Deals Won’t Last Forever” (the operating system, 2019). Additionally, she released a poetry collection titled “Batesian Prey of the American Southwest” (Schism Neuronics, 2023). Currently, she serves as the coordinator for Educational Programs at the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing at Arizona State University.
The Phoenix Writers Club meets monthly on the third Saturday, featuring speakers who discuss a variety of topics. These include publishing, promotion, and different forms of writing like novel, flash fiction, and poetry. The diversity in genres ensures fresh perspectives and insights at each meeting.
