Where to drop off your Prop. 414 ballot; Council candidates at DGT on Monday

The Tucson political calendar is heating up as key dates approach for residents and voters. From March 10 to March 11, voters can drop off their completed vote-by-mail ballots for Proposition 414 at the City of Tucson’s Elections Support Facility. This facility is located at 800 E. 12th St. Residents may also use several Pima County Recorder’s Office locations, including downtown at 240 N. Stone Ave., the elections branch at 6550 S. Country Club Rd., and the East Side office at 6920 E. Broadway, which is closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m. A voting center at the Elections Support Facility will be available on March 11 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

On February 28, Tucson Sentinel’s Editor and Co-Publisher, Dylan Smith, will appear on Arizona Public Media’s Press Room with host Steve Goldstein. The show airs at 8:30 p.m. on PBS 6 and NPR 89.1 FM, and is also accessible on the AZPM YouTube channel.

Another significant event takes place on March 3, when Tucson City Council candidate Leighton Rockafellow Jr. discusses his campaign bid for Ward 6 with the Democrats of Greater Tucson, via a Zoom meeting at noon. Interested individuals must register in advance.

As the vote for Prop 414 approaches, Tucson voters are advised to mail their ballots back by March 7. After this date, ballots must be delivered to designated drop-off locations or voting centers, which will operate from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, March 11, in each ward.

Looking ahead, on March 14, Dylan Smith will return to The Buckmaster Show to interview Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos at noon on KVOI, 1030 AM. Following that, on March 28, reporter Jim Nintzel will engage Arizona Senator Vince Leach on the same show.

Several important deadlines loom over the next few months: April 7 marks the deadline for candidates to submit nominating petitions for the Tucson City Council. Voter registration closes on July 8 for the upcoming primary election, with early voting commencing on July 9. The primary election takes place on August 5, leading up to the general election on November 4.
