Wendy’s Upgrades Drive-Thru Game with Bolder Beef Proposal for Location No. 2

A new Wendy’s restaurant is set to open in Maricopa, catering to the growing demand for fast food in the area. Located at 41980 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, this expansion follows the fast-food chain’s first local establishment that opened in 2019.
On April 22, the Chicago-based Weaver Consultants Group resubmitted a pre-application package for the upcoming site. This will occupy an empty lot between Fast & Friendly Express Car Wash and Maricopa Kids’ Dentists, according to public records.
Notable changes to the project include an increase in size to 2,300 square feet, with 26 parking spaces now included—up from the previous proposal of 22. The design features modern architectural elements such as brick, stone, and stucco, along with a convenient drive-thru for on-the-go customers.
The project aims to enhance the site’s visual appeal through landscaping while ensuring compliance with environmental standards. It awaits approval from city staff and the Maricopa Planning and Zoning Commission before construction can proceed.
Wendy’s, the world’s third-largest hamburger chain, joins other major fast-food brands on Maricopa’s John Wayne strip, promising to diversify dining options in the community. The franchise details for this new location have not yet been disclosed.
