Slightly warmer weekend

Despite increasing clouds on Saturday, Arizona will remain dry and warm.

PHOENIX — After a series of chilly mornings, afternoon temperatures are expected to rebound pleasantly. On Saturday, valley highs will reach the lower 70s, while regions in the high country will see temperatures in the 50s. Flagstaff, for instance, is forecasted to reach 51 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.

Even with the cloud cover on Saturday, calm and dry conditions will persist throughout the weekend.

As Sunday arrives, more sunshine is anticipated, yielding slightly above-normal temperatures. Phoenix is predicted to warm up to 74 degrees, while Flagstaff will see a high of 52.

A warming trend is set to take hold next week, with Wednesday poised to possibly break temperature records. The expected high of 80 degrees in Phoenix would surpass the 1950 record by a margin of one degree.

Weather patterns across Arizona will remain steady into next week. Notably, Phoenix is experiencing a significant dry spell, marked by 114 consecutive days without measurable rainfall as of Saturday.
