Weekend Travel Alert: I-10 Closure Near Sky Harbor Airport

Stretch of I-10 will be closed this weekend around Sky Harbor Airport


PHOENIX — A segment of the westbound lanes on Interstate 10 adjacent to Sky Harbor Airport will experience closures this weekend. The Arizona Department of Transportation has announced that this closure will occur between State Route 143 and Interstate 17.

The closure will commence at 10 p.m. on Friday and is expected to conclude at 10 p.m. on Saturday. Motorists are advised to utilize alternative routes. To bypass the affected area, drivers can take US 60 to Loop 101, then travel west on Loop 202 to rejoin I-10.

Additionally, several ramp closures are scheduled during this timeframe. The westbound I-10 on-ramps at 40th and 32nd streets will be shut down from 8 p.m. on April 4 until 10 p.m. on April 5. Furthermore, the westbound I-10 on-ramp at Broadway Road will be closed from 8 p.m. on April 4 through 4 a.m. on April 7. The westbound US 60 on-ramp at Mill Avenue will undergo similar closures during this period, along with the southbound SR 143 ramp to westbound I-10, which will close from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Saturday.
