Weather Impact Alert issued for Sunday due to tropical moisture!

PHOENIX — Residents can expect unseasonably high temperatures this Friday, reaching 104° across the lower deserts. However, a significant change is on the horizon as tropical moisture is set to invade the region.

Starting Saturday, temperatures will remain elevated at around 103°, but the arrival of moisture over the weekend brings increased likelihood of showers and thunderstorms. The best chances for precipitation will occur on Sunday into the night, with estimates suggesting rainfall totals could reach between 0.25 to 1 inch.

Following this weekend’s weather shift, daytime highs in the lower deserts will drop into the nineties by the middle of next week, providing some relief from the earlier heat.

Here’s a quick look at the seven-day forecast:

FRIDAY: High of 104°, low of 79° — Above normal heat.

SATURDAY: High of 103°, low of 80° — Scattered clouds.

SUNDAY: High of 94°, low of 74° — Partly cloudy with a 50% chance of rain (80% overnight).

MONDAY: High of 95°, low of 75° — Partly cloudy, cooler with a 30% chance of morning showers.

TUESDAY: High of 98°, low of 76° — Mostly sunny.
