WATCH: Meadows, Alterra residents face mischievous children

Maricopa Meadows resident Richard Stoner recently reported an incident involving a group of children vandalizing his home. Using the Nextdoor application, he shared footage from his doorbell camera showing three kids, clad in hoodies and facemasks, kicking his front door shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

The video captures the children laughing as they hit and kicked the door, raising concerns about property damage and safety. “If these are your kids, please talk to them about how dangerous and damaging to property this can be,” Stoner urged his neighbors.

In a separate incident, Alterra resident Brandy Jaffe posted a photo on Nextdoor depicting a child in a tie-dyed or bleached hoodie standing in front of her Rhea Road home. The child, arms crossed and hood obscuring their face, has drawn Jaffe’s ire. “If this is your kid, you better teach him consequences happen when you steal packages and then kick them in the street in front of a camera,” she stated, warning that they would press charges if the group causing disturbances is identified.

Monica Williams, a spokesperson for the Maricopa Police Department, confirmed that they are investigating similar reports from the community regarding juveniles damaging delivered packages. “We are investigating these incidents, but no identifications have been made at this time,” she stated, noting that it remains unclear if Stoner’s and Jaffe’s cases are connected.

Last year, several teenagers engaged in the “door kick challenge,” vandalizing homes in the Senita and Tortosa communities, shedding light on a troubling trend in the area.
