Warm Weather Today With Rain on the Horizon! But That’s Not All…

PHOENIX — A shift in Arizona’s weather is on the horizon. Today, expect clouds to build, leading to mostly overcast conditions by evening. Temperatures remain warm initially but are set to plummet by Friday.
Two weather systems are making their way toward the state. The first will bring breezy winds, cooler temperatures, and a brief window of rain Thursday morning. Snowfall is anticipated in higher elevations above 5,000 feet, particularly around Flagstaff, where a few inches may accumulate.
The second, more powerful system arrives Friday morning, promising widespread rain across the Valley by mid-morning. Initial forecasts estimate rainfall totals between 0.10 to 0.30 inches, marking a significant increase in precipitation compared to recent months.
Higher altitudes will also receive additional snowfall above 4,500 feet through Friday evening.
Once this weather system exits, a high-pressure ridge will settle over Arizona, bringing warmer and drier conditions for the weekend. By Sunday, temperatures are expected to reach around 80 degrees.
