WAPA Test Track Station Engulfed in Flames, Towering Black Smoke Visible for Miles

Firefighters responded to a blaze at the Western Arizona Power Administration’s Test Track Substation around noon today. The incident occurred at White and Parker Road near the intersection of Teel Road.
A thick, black plume of smoke was visible from various points in the city. Flames could be seen erupting from a section of the power infrastructure.
Steve Collier, the media coordinator for WAPA, stated that the agency is aware of the situation and is currently gathering more information.
