VP Harris Makes Powerful Final Appeal to Arizona Voters Ahead of Historic Election Day
PHOENIX — As the 2024 election draws near, Vice President Kamala Harris visited Arizona on Thursday for what may be one of her last campaign stops. Addressing a crowd at the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre, she urged the audience, “Arizona, I’m here to ask for your vote.”
In her speech, she emphasized key priorities, including protection of reproductive rights, tax relief for middle-class families, and safeguarding Social Security for seniors. Harris framed the upcoming election as “the most consequential election of our lifetime,” a sentiment she reinforced through passionate appeals to her supporters.
Her rhetoric resonated with many in the audience. Jay Cedillo, one of the attendees, expressed optimism that Harris’s election could symbolize progress and equality for Americans. “It just means a path forward for America,” he stated.
Additionally, former Phoenix Fire Captain John Teefy likened the stakes of this election to a struggle for democracy itself. He remarked, “I feel like I’m voting for the future of this country and for democracy as we know it.”
Interestingly, Harris did not address immigration or border security during her speech, a notable omission given the current political climate. 12News did not have the chance to pose questions on this topic to the Vice President.
As Harris wrapped up her rally, her running mate, Tim Walz, is set to continue the campaign in Arizona with rallies planned in Flagstaff and Tucson on Saturday. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump was also making headlines in Glendale at a Tucker Carlson event on the same day.
