Fire in Villages home under investigation

Maricopa Fire and Medical Department responded to a house fire in the Villages at Rancho El Dorado late last night. The incident occurred on March 6, 2025, with reports coming in around 10:43 p.m., as dispatched by Phoenix Regional Dispatch.

Fire crews were directed to the 20000 block of North Marquez Drive, where they found a blaze reported in an upstairs bedroom. Battalion Chief Nathan Maxcy commented on the situation, explaining that firefighters ensured no one was inside the home before proceeding upstairs.

Upon arrival, the team detected smoke but noted that the fire had already been extinguished. Firefighters were observed using their equipment to illuminate the upstairs area and noticed smoke escaping from the windows as they opened them.

Maxcy explained that after ensuring the fire had not spread into walls or the attic, they utilized fans to disperse the remaining smoke. Fortunately, the home was deemed safe for the occupants, allowing them to remain in their residence without displacement.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation by fire authorities.
