VIDEO: Heartbreaking Moment Dog Abandoned in Surprise Tries to Catch the Car That Left It Behind

Surprise, Arizona—A shocking incident involving a dog abandonment has drawn attention on social media. A video submitted to 12News by viewer Tricia Swesey captures the distressing moment when a car stops at a dead end, opens a back door, and a dog is released.

The footage, recorded on March 8 around 12:15 p.m., shows a small black-and-white dog jumping out before the car’s driver can be heard saying, “bye bye.” The dog instinctively chases after the vehicle as it drives away, whimpering in apparent distress.

Authorities have confirmed that the dog remains with Surprise Animal Control while they conduct an investigation. Maricopa County Animal Care and Control is actively involved in the situation.
