Vice presidential candidate Tim Walz to visit 2 Arizona cities on weekend before the election

PHOENIX — Tim Walz, the governor of Minnesota and Democratic vice presidential candidate, is set to visit Arizona just days before the election. This announcement was made by the Harris campaign on Wednesday.

On Saturday afternoon, Walz will kick off his trip with a campaign event in Flagstaff, followed by a second gathering in Tucson. These appearances come two days after Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump host competing events in Phoenix on Halloween.

With polls indicating a tight race, political analysts suggest that both national campaigns are focusing heavily on Arizona’s pivotal role. “The last stretch is critical for both campaigns,” states Ulrich Jensen, an associate professor at Arizona State University. “All the polls suggest this is going to be a really close race.”

Jensen emphasizes the importance of swing states like Arizona, noting the strategic focus from both parties as they seek to engage voters on pressing issues. “The economy and immigration are paramount concerns for voters, and campaigns want to be visible in key states,” he added.

In response to Walz’s visit, Arizona RNC communications director Halee Dobbins criticized the Democratic candidate. “Tim Walz is completely out of touch with Arizonans. His dangerously liberal record speaks for itself,” she said. “Arizonans want a leader that puts Americans first, and that’s why they will overwhelmingly vote for President Trump on November 5th.”

As the election approaches, both candidates are ramping up their efforts to reach Arizona voters. Engagement in this pivotal state could be crucial for determining the outcome of the presidential race.
