PHOENIX — A West Valley woman reportedly discharged her firearm after discovering an unknown woman inside her residence. The Phoenix Police Department received the call around 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday, specifically at the 4100 block of West Monte Vista Road.

Officials stated that the homeowner entered her home to find the intruder present and subsequently shot her. The injured woman was transported to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive, with her injuries not deemed life-threatening. She is anticipated to be released later Wednesday.
