Valley man asked wife to intimidate victim in sex abuse case. Now he's going to prison for a very long time.

PEORIA, Ariz. — A Peoria man, Robert Lee, 55, was sentenced to three consecutive life sentences for multiple sex crimes against minors. This extensive ruling by Maricopa County effectively bars him from ever interacting with children again.

Lee’s conviction includes 16 counts, resulting in a total sentence of around 150 years in prison. His abusive actions came to light when one victim reported him to Peoria police in 2021. Subsequently, investigators uncovered additional victims who had suffered similar abuses.

Attempts by Lee to influence the victims’ testimonies, including urging his wife to intimidate them, further compounded the severity of his case, according to statements from the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell praised the lengthy sentence, emphasizing that it ensures the safety of children in the community. “We know this man attacked children at least twice. A sentence of 150 years ensures he will never come in contact with a child again,” she stated.
