United Airlines Flight Diverts to Safety Amid Cockpit Smoke Scare en Route to Phoenix

PHOENIX — A United Airlines flight en route from Chicago to Phoenix was forced to make an emergency landing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Saturday morning after smoke was reported in the cockpit. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Boeing 757 landed safely just before noon.
Emergency crews quickly inspected the aircraft, allowing United Airlines to rebook its passengers onto other flights. As of now, the cause of the smoke remains undisclosed, and the FAA is conducting an investigation into the incident.
