PHOENIX — Autumn’s arrival has signaled the start of football season, just as Arizona’s longest-running high school football show gears up for the first playoff games next week. The 35th season of Friday Night Fever is about to intensify, culminating with the 1A State Championship Game on Saturday, November 16, at Coronado High School. The reigning champions, the Hayden Lobos, are set to compete for the title.
This week marks a pivotal point for the 1A teams as the Arizona Interscholastic Association prepares to announce the final rankings. These rankings will determine the 12 teams that will advance to the playoffs, while other conferences continue their regular seasons with significant matchups.
