U.S. Marshals Pursue Escaped Convict to Glennwilde, Nab Second Woman at Walmart

U.S. Marshals apprehended two women in Maricopa on Tuesday, first near Arbor Drive in Glennwilde and shortly after in a Walmart parking lot.
The primary arrest involved 36-year-old Mia Tammy Consuelo Armenta from Phoenix. She was taken into custody following a pursuit that began after she exited a vehicle fleeing law enforcement.
According to police reports, the Maricopa Police Department requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service due to an investigation into a felony flight involving Armenta. She had outstanding warrants in Maricopa County, each with a bond set at $500.
Armenta’s criminal history includes multiple charges from 2017 related to trafficking stolen property and drug possession. In a plea deal, she admitted guilt to three felony charges, including those also linked to previous drug cases.
A search of Armenta’s backpack revealed numerous small zip-lock bags containing suspected M30 pills, often linked to counterfeit Oxycodone laced with fentanyl. Investigators also discovered used drug paraphernalia.
Armenta now faces two felony charges: possession of narcotics for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, she could face up to 14 years in prison.
Shortly after Armenta’s arrest, the Marshals detained another woman outside Walmart, who appeared distressed as she was surrounded by officers. She was later released at the scene.
Brian England, a deputy Marshal for the District of Arizona, confirmed the second detention, stating it was related to a violation of supervised release conditions for a previous conviction.
