Two Lake Havasu City Residents Escape Unscathed from Monday’s Saratoga Ave House Blaze
On Monday evening, a fire erupted in a Lake Havasu City home, but residents and their pets remained unscathed. The blaze, which began in the garage, was detected by passersby in the 3500 block of Oro Grande Boulevard.
Witnesses reported the incident, prompting a swift response from emergency services. The first fire crew on the scene observed smoke and flames emerging from the double RV garage.
Firefighters mobilized quickly, with five engine companies, a medic unit, and a battalion chief arriving to tackle the flames. Within 25 minutes, they brought the fire under control.
Thanks to the quick actions of the witnesses, homeowners Karen and David Heitmiller and their dogs evacuated safely. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the firefighters. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
In a heartfelt message on Facebook the following morning, the Heitmillers expressed their gratitude, particularly to those who assisted during the emergency and the firefighters who extinguished the flames. “We could have lost everything but we are very blessed. We will be displaced for a time but we are all safe,” they wrote.
