Two Company Trucks Collide, Paralyzing Traffic on SR 238

Emergency services responded to a crash on State Route 238 around 9:35 a.m. on October 2, 2024.

Traffic slowed significantly following a collision between two company trucks at the Loma Road intersection. A truck belonging to Combs Construction Company, based in Phoenix, rear-ended a vehicle from Mesa’s Otto Trucking in the eastbound lane.

The Maricopa Fire and Medical Department dispatched Engine 575 to the scene, where crews blocked off the lane while officers and public safety aides managed traffic. Eastbound drivers were rerouted into the right turn lane and directed through the intersection, as cones marked off the left turn lane off Loma.

Both truck drivers were seen capturing images of the crash site, and an ambulance remained on standby. As of now, no information regarding injuries or the specific cause of the collision is available.
