Two Children Hospitalized Following Three-Vehicle Collision

Maricopa police and fire crews responded to a three-vehicle crash on North John Wayne Parkway near Maricopa Fiesta Drive around 9:30 p.m. on August 5.

Two children were hospitalized following the incident. Authorities arrived swiftly to the scene, finding three cars involved in a collision within the northbound left turn lane.

“There were four people involved, two minors,” stated MPD spokesperson Monica Williams. “The minors were transported as a precaution to a valley hospital [with] very minor injuries.”

Brian Petersheim Jr., involved in documenting the incident, has been a part of the InMaricopa team since October 2020. Starting as a multimedia intern, he transitioned to a full-fledged position after graduating from Maricopa High School in 2021.
