Trump Appoints AG Bondi to Spearhead Task Force Combatting Anti-Christian Bias

By Matthew Holloway |
President Donald Trump has signed an Executive Order establishing a new Justice Department Task Force dedicated to combating anti-Christian bias. The task force will be led by recently confirmed Attorney General Pam Bondi and will include various cabinet members as well as heads of relevant executive departments and agencies.
In the Executive Order, Trump emphasized the Constitution’s protections for the free exercise of religion and referenced the Civil Rights Act of 1964, asserting that the previous administration consistently targeted peaceful Christians while neglecting violent anti-Christian actions. “The previous Administration engaged in an egregious pattern of targeting peaceful Christians,” he stated.
Trump criticized the Biden administration’s Justice Department for supposedly undermining faith in public spaces. He referenced federal charges against pro-life Christians who demonstrated outside abortion clinics and described instances where a Catholic priest and others faced prosecution merely for praying and singing hymns in protest.
Additionally, the President pointed to a significant increase in hostility toward Christian institutions. He cited over 100 attacks against Catholic churches, charities, and pro-life centers that the Biden administration allegedly overlooked. The U.S. House of Representatives has since condemned this violence, urging the current administration to take action.
Trump claimed that the incidences of vandalism against churches were eight times higher in 2023 than in 2018. He also criticized the Department of Education for its moves to revoke religious liberty protections for faith-based organizations on university campuses and its efforts to impose beliefs on Christians through policies linked to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
In his closing remarks within the Executive Order, Trump affirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting the rights of Christians. “We will not tolerate anti-Christian weaponization of government,” he stated. He vowed to identify and rectify any unlawful conduct or policies targeting Christians.
During his address at the National Prayer Breakfast, Trump outlined the task force’s objectives. He proclaimed that its mission is to stop all forms of anti-Christian discrimination within the federal government and to prosecute instances of anti-Christian violence vigorously.
