Troy Hayden Joins 12News: A New Era Unfolds

The addition of the long-time journalist gives the station the most experienced anchor team in Phoenix.
Veteran journalist and television anchor Troy Hayden has officially joined the 12News team this morning, enhancing the station’s robust lineup.
Hayden will start his new role on “Today in AZ,” anchoring morning segments and the station’s Olympic Zone coverage at 7:30 p.m. post-Olympics, he intends to transition to the evening anchor team alongside Mark Curtis, Caribe Devine, and Tram Mai. Combined, this team boasts over 100 years of journalism experience, making them the most seasoned anchor ensemble in the Valley.

With a career spanning three decades, Hayden began as an evening anchor in 1994 before shifting to morning segments in 2016. His expansive coverage includes high-profile trials, executions, and niche areas like political war rooms, U.S. border issues, nuclear submarines, and Arizona caves.
