Shooting at West Valley hotel kills 1 man, injures 3 other people


PHOENIX — A late-night shooting at a West Valley hotel has left one man dead and three others injured, according to the Phoenix Police Department. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on March 21 at the Red Roof Inn located near 4100 North Black Canyon Access Road, close to I-17 and Indian School Road.

Upon arrival, officers discovered 25-year-old Tyson Miko Harris suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital.

During the investigation, police located another shooting victim nearby. This individual was also hospitalized but is expected to recover from non-life-threatening injuries. Shortly after, Mesa Police found a man and woman with gunshot wounds near Center Street and University Drive, both of whom were connected to the same incident and are similarly in stable condition.

Authorities are currently piecing together the details of the shooting. Chief among the inquiries is understanding the motive behind the violence and the connections between the victims. The identities of the three injured individuals have not been released.
