Tragic Rollover Crash on SR 347 Claims Child’s Life Near I-10

Traffic congestion ensued following a tragic crash on Interstate 10 at State Route 347 this morning. The incident involved a two-vehicle rollover that resulted in the death of a child.

Authorities reported that the collision occurred shortly after 6:30 a.m., leading to the closure of SR 347 at I-10. The timeline for reopening the roadway remains uncertain.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), a Ford Explorer lost control due to a blown tire. The vehicle veered into a dirt median, crossing into the eastbound lane, where it was subsequently struck by a pickup truck.

A young boy, identified as a passenger in the front seat of the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene. Five individuals were involved in the pickup truck, but none sustained injuries.

DPS officials confirmed that there are no pending criminal charges related to this incident.
