According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), a Ford Explorer lost control due to a blown tire. The vehicle veered into a dirt median, crossing into the eastbound lane, where it was subsequently struck by a pickup truck.
A young boy, identified as a passenger in the front seat of the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene. Five individuals were involved in the pickup truck, but none sustained injuries.
