1 teen killed, another injured in rollover wreck in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A tragic accident early Saturday morning resulted in the death of a teenage girl and left a teenage boy injured. The incident occurred around 4:15 a.m. near the intersection of 59th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard, as reported by the Phoenix Police Department.

Upon arrival, officers found the two teens trapped inside a vehicle that had rolled off the road, through a fence, and crashed into a tree. Emergency responders worked swiftly to extricate the occupants from the wreckage.

The driver, identified as 15-year-old Anamarie Leach, succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The male passenger, whose identity remains undisclosed, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to a local medical facility.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the car was traveling east on Encanto Boulevard at a high speed when Leach lost control. The vehicle veered off the road before colliding with a fence and subsequently a tree. The police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

This story will be updated as further details emerge.
