WASHINGTON — Hudson Meek, a promising child actor known for his role in Edgar Wright’s “Baby Driver,” has passed away at the age of 16, according to a family announcement on December 21.
In a heartfelt message shared on his Instagram, his family expressed their grief: “Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight. His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.”
Details surrounding his death have emerged, with the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirming he sustained critical injuries after falling from a moving vehicle in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, on December 19. Investigations are ongoing.
Meek’s family took solace in the fact that he was an organ donor, stating in his obituary, “he will continue to help others for years to come.”
Meek portrayed the younger version of Ansel Elgort’s character in the 2017 film “Baby Driver.” His acting credits include appearances in NBC’s “Found,” the “Macgyver” reboot, and several voice acting roles. He also collaborated with his brother, Tucker Meek, in the 2014 Lifetime movie “The Santa Con.”
His obituary highlighted his passion for acting, noting, “He absolutely loved spending time on set and having the chance to learn the names and stories of every member of the cast and crew.” It also mentioned that he had projects slated for release in 2025.
J Pervis Talent Agency, which represented him, also paid tribute on Instagram: “Hudson was an extraordinary young talent, whose dedication, passion, and promise shone brightly within our industry. His loss leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all of us.”
