1 dead in crash on I-10, DPS says

PHOENIX — A tragic incident on I-10 eastbound near 107th Avenue has resulted in one fatality, as reported by the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) on Wednesday afternoon.

Preliminary investigations reveal that a Toyota SUV, failing to slow for halted traffic, collided with a Ford truck. The impact pushed the truck into another vehicle ahead of it. Unfortunately, the driver of the Toyota was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.

Two other drivers involved were transported to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, according to DPS. The identity of the deceased has yet to be disclosed, and initial reports suggesting the involvement of six vehicles were later corrected to three.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Further updates will be provided as more details emerge.
