Tragic Highway Collision Claims Lives of Two Arizona Women in Sonora, Mexico
Two Arizona women tragically lost their lives on Friday morning while traveling to Caborca, Sonora, Mexico, as reported by Mexican authorities.
The victims, 72-year-old Enedina and 82-year-old Ubaldina, were discovered inside a white Nissan Pathfinder, which had sustained multiple bullet impacts and subsequently rolled over.
The incident took place on the highway connecting the border town of Sonoyta to Caborca. The Sonora Attorney General’s Office has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
Authorities announced the initiation of a coordinated operation involving three law enforcement agencies aimed at apprehending a “criminal group” believed to be responsible for the attack. A stolen blue 2023 Ford F-150 was located in the nearby town of Plutarco Elías Calles, along with firearms and magazines inside the vehicle.
The investigation by state authorities is ongoing, as they continue to gather evidence and piece together details related to this tragic event.
