Motorcyclist dies after crash in north Phoenix on Friday


PHOENIX — Tragedy struck in north Phoenix on Friday morning when a 20-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Mike Do, died following a collision.

The incident occurred around 11:40 a.m. at the intersection of 28th Drive and Peoria Avenue. Initial investigations indicate that Do was riding westbound on Peoria Avenue when a Valley Metro paratransit vehicle made a left turn in front of him, leading to the crash.

After colliding with the paratransit vehicle, Do was thrown from his motorcycle and impacted a third vehicle. Emergency responders rushed him to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

At the time of the incident, Do was wearing a helmet. The driver of the paratransit vehicle remained on the scene and showed no signs of impairment.

The Phoenix Police Department is continuing to investigate this tragic event.
