Tragic End: Man Loses Life Following Brawl Outside Central Phoenix Bar

PHOENIX — Tragedy struck as 22-year-old Rafael Montoya succumbed to severe head injuries sustained during a late-night altercation outside a bar. Montoya passed away three days after the incident, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The brawl erupted on March 16 near North Central Avenue and Fillmore Street, where off-duty officers were present. They responded promptly after being alerted to an unconscious man lying on the ground.
Montoya was transported to a hospital with significant head trauma. Despite medical efforts, he did not survive. The police have since initiated an investigation, interviewing several witnesses and individuals connected to the fight.
As of now, no arrests have been made. Authorities are seeking surveillance footage from the area to gain more insight into the events that transpired. A statement from the department indicated that more people may have captured relevant video evidence.
