GLENDALE, Ariz. — Authorities have reported the death of an elderly man who was found unresponsive in a backyard pool in Glendale on Sunday morning.

Emergency responses from the Phoenix and Glendale fire departments were coordinated following reports of the incident. It remains unclear precisely how long the man had been unresponsive before the 911 call was made.

First responders determined the man had already passed away when they arrived. Resuscitation efforts were deemed futile.
