MESA, Ariz. — An 18-year-old boy, identified as Amari Magdaleno, has died after being discovered in an irrigation ditch in Mesa.

Authorities reported that Magdaleno was found face up and partially submerged near 8th Street and Stapley Drive. The circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation, with police indicating that intoxication could be a contributing factor.
