Man dies after being hit by vehicle in Glendale


GLENDALE, Ariz. — A pedestrian fatality occurred Sunday morning in Glendale when a man was struck by a vehicle around 11 a.m. The incident took place in the 5900 block of Melinda Lane, in proximity to 59th Avenue and Deer Valley Road.

The man sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, but he later succumbed to those injuries. The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed, pending notification of family.

According to Glendale Police, the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. In the wake of the incident, authorities have closed the area between Pinnacle Peak and Melinda Lane for several hours. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes during this time.
