Tragic Accident: Man Killed as Car Collides with Mailbox and Wall on McCulloch
A single-vehicle accident claimed the life of a Lake Havasu City man on Wednesday afternoon. The incident took place around 1 p.m. near the intersection of McCulloch Boulevard and Daytona Avenue.
According to Sgt. Kyle Ridgway from the Lake Havasu City Police Department, the driver involved, identified as 67-year-old Jeffery Woods, was the only occupant of the vehicle. Preliminary reports indicate that Woods was traveling eastbound when his vehicle veered off the road, struck a mailbox, and subsequently collided with a wall.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find Woods unconscious. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts by officers and personnel from the Lake Havasu City Fire Department, Woods was later pronounced dead at Havasu Regional Medical Center.
Investigators suggest that Woods may have experienced a medical incident before the crash. At this time, officers are still probing whether drug or alcohol impairment played a role in the accident. Additional information will be released as the investigation continues.
