Tragedy in Phoenix: Wheelchair-Bound Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle

PHOENIX — An incident in south Phoenix has resulted in the death of a man in a wheelchair after being struck by a vehicle Saturday evening, according to local authorities.

The Phoenix Police Department reported that the fatal accident occurred around 6:20 p.m. at the intersection of Central Avenue and Southern Avenue.

Witnesses say the man was crossing Southern Avenue mid-block when he was hit by a car traveling westbound.

Emergency services transported the victim to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the deceased has not yet been made public.

Authorities noted that the driver involved remained at the scene and did not exhibit signs of impairment during the investigation.
