Work on traffic signal at Acoma, S. Palo Verde intersection postponed

Lake Havasu City officials announced on Thursday that the planned traffic signal work at the intersection of Acoma Boulevard and S. Palo Verde Boulevard will be postponed. Originally set to start next Monday, the project aimed to implement a temporary four-way stop while upgrades were made to the traffic signals.

City authorities indicated that they will provide updates regarding the new timeline on their website and social media platforms once they confirm the revised schedule. This construction is part of a broader Traffic Signal Upgrade Project designed to enhance the traffic signal infrastructure at various intersections across the city.

A recent approval by the Lake Havasu City Council facilitated the purchase of $64,418 worth of equipment, along with an additional $20,582 set aside for any unexpected expenses. City Manager Jess Knudson highlighted that these repairs aim to address detection issues at the Acoma Boulevard and S. Palo Verde Boulevard intersection, which have led to unnecessary full cycles of the traffic light.
