Tom Cruise's salary for Olympics Closing Ceremony revealed

In an electrifying preview for the 2028 Summer Olympics, Tom Cruise captivated audiences with a spectacular stunt during the 2024 Games’ Closing Ceremony, showcasing his willingness to go the extra mile.

Stunned viewers watched as Cruise performed a daring jump from the Stade de France, landing gracefully in the stadium before navigating through a throng of Olympians to accept the Olympic flag from Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and celebrated gymnast Simone Biles.

His performance didn’t stop there. After accepting the flag, Cruise mounted a motorcycle and sped through the crowd, leading to a thrilling pre-recorded sequence where he raced through Paris before boarding a plane bound for California. The adrenaline peaked when he skydived into the Hollywood hills, a trademark move for the daredevil actor.

Despite the stunt’s complexity and breathtaking execution, Cruise reportedly did not charge for his appearance. Casey Wasserman, chairman of the LA2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, revealed that Cruise was motivated by the chance to take part in the event. “About five minutes into the presentation he goes ‘I’m in. But I’m only doing it if I get to do everything,’” Wasserman said in an interview.

Initially, organizers planned to use a stunt double, presuming Cruise would be unavailable. Wasserman clarified, “And by the way, did it all for free, everyone on that program – that 15-minute (video) did it for free.”

Interestingly, Cruise had just wrapped filming for the next installment of “Mission: Impossible” before making his way to the Closing Ceremony. “He finished filming ‘Mission Impossible’ at 6 p.m. in London, got right on a plane. He landed in LA at 4 a.m.,” Wasserman detailed. The actor filmed additional scenes that morning, including two skydives for the show.

Looking ahead, Wasserman hinted at an ambitious idea for the upcoming Olympics: adorning the Hollywood sign with the Olympic rings. However, he noted that plans are still in the preliminary stages.
