The Devonshire Senior Center in Phoenix is set to engage its older residents with a series of programs throughout October. Among the upcoming outings are a visit to the Phoenix Zoo on Thursday, Oct. 3, a tour of the Deer Valley Petroglyph Preserve on Thursday, Oct. 10, fishing at Papago Park on Wednesday, Oct. 16, and a lunch excursion to Macaroni Grill on Thursday, Oct. 24.

These special events complement the daily activities available at the center, such as Bingocize. This unique program combines light physical activity with the classic game of Bingo and is scheduled every Monday and Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.

Meanwhile, the Sunnyslope Senior Center at 802 E. Vogel Ave. is also hosting several engaging activities. On Friday, Oct. 4, members will enjoy a lunch trip to India’s Flame, followed by a visit to the OdySea Aquarium on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Additional outings include lunch at Fry Bread House on Wednesday, Oct. 16, and another trip to the Deer Valley Petroglyphs on Wednesday, Oct. 23.

The Sunnyslope center will also play a role in the Sunnyslope Health Community Fair on Thursday, Oct. 10, at 9 a.m. Furthermore, a Halloween party is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 30. Regular offerings at Sunnyslope include line dancing, yoga, billiards, a laptop lab, and conversational Spanish classes. For more details, contact 602-262-7572.

Programs at both senior centers are available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Membership grants access to all 15 senior centers in Phoenix, with an annual fee of $20 for residents and $40 for non-residents.
