’Thirsty Thirdsday’ Returns to Province and Brews Up Support for Local Food Banks

The Province community center, a focal point for local residents, hosted its monthly “Thirsty Thirdsday” event recently, blending social enjoyment with community support.
This gathering allowed attendees to connect over drinks while contributing to the F.O.R. Maricopa food bank. Wendy Webb, Executive Director of F.O.R. Maricopa, highlighted the event’s dual purpose. “We get a small percentage of the money that comes in for the alcohol,” she noted.
In addition to raising funds, the team at F.O.R. Maricopa seeks to inform participants about state tax credits for charitable donations. Individual donors can claim up to $421, while married couples can receive credits of up to $841. Webb emphasized the benefit: “You take that money you’re donating to us, and it becomes a credit on your taxes.”
This initiative allows residents to effectively reduce their tax liabilities while supporting local nonprofits. “It’s a great opportunity,” Webb added, referring to the chance for taxpayers to reinvest in their community.
The next Thirsty Thirdsday event is scheduled for December 19, running from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Province Town Hall. Attendees can look forward to live music from local cover band The Vibe AZ, featuring five senior residents from Maricopa.
