Tense Standoff in Gilbert Ends Tragically with One Fatality

GILBERT, Ariz. — A tense situation unfolded at a Starbucks in Gilbert on Thursday, prompting emergency evacuations. The Gilbert Police Department responded to reports of shots being fired in the vicinity of Santan Village Parkway.

According to witnesses, a man entered the Starbucks and brandished a weapon at a customer before retreating into a restroom. The unsettling scene escalated as bystanders reported hearing gunshots.
