Tempe Tragedy: Fatal Crash Claims One Life as Car Slams into Pole

Officials said the crash happened near University Drive and Dobson Road.

TEMPE, Ariz. — First responders are at the scene of a deadly crash in Tempe.

The Tempe Police Department said the crash happened Thursday afternoon near University Drive and Dobson Road.

Police said a car crashed into a pole and the driver died.

Closures are in place at University Drive and Evergreen Road, and University Drive and May Street due to the crash. They are expected to remain in place for several hours as the crash is investigated.
