Drug-dealing charges lodged after teen’s car fails Karma’s sniff test

19-year-old Soleil L. Jacques was arrested on drug-related charges after a police encounter revealed suspicious items in his possession. Authorities discovered a significant quantity of THC vapes, multiple cell phones, and an unauthorized credit card.

The incident began around 2 p.m. on April 17, when a Maricopa police officer pulled Jacques over for speeding at the intersection of Porter Road and Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway. Following the stop, K9 officer Karma was deployed for an open-air narcotics sniff.

Karma alerted officers to the presence of drugs, prompting a consensual search of Jacques. He was found with three Geek Bar nicotine vapes and various THC cartridges, both illegal for individuals under 21 to possess. This issue has gained attention in light of a recent tragic incident in Maricopa linked to a THC vape sale.

A search of Jacques’s vehicle uncovered four cell phones, several empty THC cartridge boxes, additional THC cartridges, $92 in cash, and a CashApp card linked to someone named Terrance Miller.

Jacques, claiming he had no job, stated that all the seized items were for personal use. Despite being a first-time offender, he was taken into custody and charged with a felony for possessing marijuana with intent to sell. He now faces a potential sentence of up to a year and a half in prison.
