Sunny skies for now but a cool down is ahead for the Valley

A spinning area of clouds and showers is expected to edge into northern Arizona on Tuesday. However, the Phoenix area will remain largely rain-free for the foreseeable future.

On Tuesday, strong sunshine will push temperatures in Phoenix back to near 90 degrees. Afternoon highs are forecast to remain in the 90s from Wednesday through the start of the weekend. This is above the normal high of around 90 degrees for this time of year.

Weather patterns will shift significantly by Sunday, bringing temperatures down well below normal, with highs dropping to the upper 70s. This cool-down will also accompany windy conditions and a low chance of precipitation, primarily in the high country. Conditions are expected to be cold enough for potential snow flurries in Flagstaff on Sunday.
