Substance Discovered at Kari Lake Campaign Office Declared ‘Non-Hazardous’

PHOENIX — Emergency services, including police and firefighters, responded to a report of a suspicious substance at U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake’s campaign office on Tuesday. The incident took place on Camelback Road, where law enforcement was alerted to an envelope containing the unknown material.
The Phoenix bomb squad arrived at the office situated near 40th Street and Camelback Road to conduct testing. After thorough examination, authorities confirmed that the substance posed no threat. Police stated, “There was no immediate threat to the community, and the occupants of the building will be allowed access shortly.”
While police did not specify Lake’s campaign as the tenant involved, the candidate confirmed that her office received a “suspicious envelope.” In a reaction to the incident, Lake expressed her belief that the “radical left” is responsible for increased intimidation tactics against her.
“I won’t be intimidated, and those responsible must be brought to justice,” she declared. “The time to unite against these dangerous, un-American tactics is now,” she added, underscoring a call for solidarity among her supporters.
This situation mirrors a previous occurrence in 2022 when Lake’s campaign office, during her gubernatorial run, reported receiving suspicious letters that prompted police intervention. An investigation back then concluded that no harmful substance was found.
Police continue to investigate the matter, maintaining a vigilant approach towards potential threats. Further updates will follow as the situation evolves.
