Stunning Images: Helicopter Repairs Powerlines in Mid-Air

Working on powerlines by hanging from a helicopter might appear daunting, yet it offers a safer alternative to being exposed to high voltage on the ground.

On Sunday, photographer John Meyer captured striking images of this operation along the Santa Cruz River, adjacent to Interstate 10 near Downtown Tucson.

The crew was addressing maintenance on the power line running between Cushing and Congress streets. A worker was observed standing on the skid of an MD 500 helicopter as it maneuvered above the site.
