EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Police dashcam shows suspect kick out windshield of patrol car at protest

PHOENIX — Protests against the Trump administration’s immigration policies continued in the West Valley for a third consecutive night on Sunday. An estimated 1,000 attendees gathered, expressing their opposition to potential mass deportations.

The demonstration began peacefully, but tensions escalated after dark. Protesters blocked roads and set off fireworks, which impelled the Glendale Police Department to take action.

Damage reports indicate that five police vehicles sustained significant harm, including broken and shattered windows and slashed tires. Additionally, one individual reportedly commandeered a police car for a short distance before fleeing back into the crowd. Authorities confirmed no arrests had been made regarding that incident.

Throughout the protests, both Phoenix and Glendale police maintained a presence near the busy intersection of 67th Avenue and Camelback Road. Officers urged motorists to steer clear of the area due to heavy congestion.

On Saturday, tensions escalated further. A demonstration nearby involved protesters, including one waving a Mexican flag. Glendale police resorted to deploying tear gas to disperse the crowd after declaring the assembly unlawful around 10:15 p.m.

In a statement, the Phoenix Police Department affirmed their commitment to respecting citizens’ rights to peaceful assembly while ensuring community safety. They said they organized resources to monitor the situation closely.
