State Troopers Foil Intoxicated Driver’s Escape with Spike Strips Near Kingman

A car chase initiated by the National Parks Service near the Arizona-Nevada border concluded at the US 93-SR 68 junction, resulting in the arrest of a driver suspected of drunk driving and unlawful flight. The incident unfolded when the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) was alerted at 11:09 a.m. regarding a white Mini Cooper being pursued by NPS authorities.
According to Public Information Officer Bart Graves, the pursuit by the National Parks Service reached milepost 13 before they requested DPS assistance to locate the vehicle as it entered Arizona on US 93. By 11:43 a.m., a DPS trooper spotted the Mini Cooper and initiated a chase.
The pursuit continued until milepost 66, where a second trooper strategically deployed stop spikes. This maneuver effectively brought the vehicle to a halt, allowing officers to safely apprehend the driver.
The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Yousef Kadmiri from Las Vegas, was taken into custody and is now facing charges of driving under the influence and unlawful flight from law enforcement. He has been booked into the Mohave County Jail.
