SR-87 Resumes Traffic After Hours of Closure Due to Shocking Road Rage Incident

MESA, Ariz. — A hit-and-run incident involving two vehicles unfolded Thursday near State Route 202 and Scottsdale Road, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Following the collision, the driver of the victim’s car pursued the suspect vehicle along State Route 87.

During the chase, occupants of the suspect vehicle allegedly discharged firearms at the pursued vehicle, although fortunately, no injuries were reported. After the incident, the driver promptly contacted law enforcement to report the gunfire and pursuit.

In a subsequent turn of events, the suspects abandoned their vehicle about a mile south of Shea Boulevard and escaped on foot into the nearby desert. The investigation into the matter is ongoing as authorities continue to search for those involved.
