PHOENIX — Mild weather is set to persist through the weekend as a weak weather system moves north of the region. This afternoon and again on Friday, expect breezy conditions primarily affecting the Lower Colorado River Valley.

Beginning Sunday, a strong high-pressure system will establish itself over Arizona, bringing significantly warmer temperatures. The forecast indicates potential record-high readings by the middle of next week.

Here’s a look at the seven-day forecast:

THURSDAY: 80°F / 51°F – Mostly sunny and warm.

FRIDAY: 79°F / 50°F – Sunny and warm.

SATURDAY: 79°F / 52°F – Sunny conditions, trending warmer.

SUNDAY: 83°F / 53°F – Sunny and warm, with a record high of 89°F.

MONDAY: 87°F / 58°F – Sunny and warm, potential record high at 91°F.

TUESDAY: 89°F / 59°F – Remaining warm, with a record high of 92°F.

WEDNESDAY: 89°F / 60°F – Partly cloudy, nearing a record high of 91°F.
